We need to get together
Class Letters
Gang! It’s been too long…we need to get together!
First off, we’ve got to get our look right. Our costumes team has just the thing! Introducing our “Never an Off Year” t-shirts! The Class of 2000 simply can not be contained by a single reunion. Designed to complement our new jackets (for now we’re just doing adult sizes), these shirts have the soft cotton comfort that you know and love, but they also all business for those who know that off years are the best. We’re going to take orders until April 15, then send them to you ahead of the big weekend, so get your order in now!
Second…where should we meet up? How about Reunions! Reunions is May 21-24 and the ‘01s are doing all the work, so it’s going to be great. Satellite Registration will open on April 2 and each of us gets one guest, which is good for tent access at night, but not needed for P-Rade and daytime stuff. I’ll send another note that day, but you can also find a link right at the top of our class site at reunions.princeton2000.org
But…what if we can’t wait that long to hang out? Look, I get it. We have several big Princeton events coming up over the next several weeks to whet your tiger whistles:
On April 8 at 4:30pm ET, Sean Wilentz h00 will lead a TigerSide Chat in conversation with Jonathan Taplin ’69 p98 g29, former tour manager for Bob Dylan and The Band. Register to attend by April 6! For inquiries, please email eventmgr@princeton.edu
New York! On April 16, at 6:00pm, Princeton is hosting a gathering with President Eisgruber to celebrate the success of the Venture Forward campaign and discuss what’s next for Princeton. We’ll meet up at the Marriott Marquis for a welcome reception, then a conversation led by Board Chair, Louise Sams ’79, then a closing reception at 8:00pm…should be a great time for all of us in the New York area to get together in some roaring Orange and Black! Register now!
Chicago! On April 27th, from 5:30 to 9:00pm, we will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Princeton Club of Chicago at their annyal dinner at the City Hall/Recess venue in the West Loop. With an opening rece for mingling, conversation, and dinner, the highlight of the night will be a fascinating conversation between two Princeton leaders, Ed Felsenthal ’88, Executive Chair and former CEO of Time Magazine, and ’00s VERY OWN Candace Jackson-Akiwumi ’00, Federal Judge for the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. Get your tickets now!
Everywhere all at once! On May 5 at 4:30pm ET, our own Andrew Houck ‘00, dean fo the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and Nathalie de Leon, co-director of the Princeton Quantum Initiative are going to discuss the Princeton Quantum Initiative, which is pushing the boundaries of discovery around quantum information. I got a chance to hear them speak this Fall, and it’s truly mind-blowing how far we’ve come and where we might go (or already are and just don’t realize it yet…this stuff is complicated!) Registration will open soon, so watch this space!
Finally, we are hoping to keep the momentum going after Reunions and would like to host several regional gatherings over the next couple of years. If you’re interested in potentially getting involved, I want to stress that A) we’d love to have you and B) we would like to make this as easy as possible. Ideally, you can help us find a good venue for your area, and we can work on all the rest. I think we had such a great time getting together at Reunions last year, we really want to keep those connections and conversations going wherever you are. Let us know if you want to get involved!
